1998 Spring UT Football Scrimmage

Here are some photos that I took when on a business trip to Novell in Utah. I managed to find an afternoon to drive up into the mountains for a little rest.

The Longhorn Band shows up early and marches into the stadium.
At this time the east side upper deck was still being built.  So everyone was concentrated on the west side.
The athletics complex at the south side of the stadium was also under construction.
The alumni center was hoping with activity.
All the trappings of game day were there, even the big Texas flag.
"The Eyes of Texas..."
And the scrimmage begins.
Over 20,000 fans were on hand that day,  the largest for spring practice ever.
Closer to the construction on the east side.
The fans line up for players' autographs.
RB Hodges Mitchell talking to the press.
Richard Walton giving an interview.
WR Kwame Cavil signs autographs.
LB Dusty Renfro talks to the media and fans.
DE Aaron Humphrey.
QB Richard Walton was a class act.  He waited in the wings for James Brown to graduate and got his opportunity as a senior in 1998...
Then he hurt his throwing hand in the second game, Major Applewhite took over and the rest is history.  He never complained.
Is this TE Derek Lewis??
OL Ben Adams
WR Brandon Healy on the left and OL Cory Quye on the left.
